Job Description:

As the Bakery Manager at SOFI, you are a key member of the management team responsible for the smooth daily running of the business and the overall guest experience. You will lead the front-of-house operations, oversee staffing and service, manage administrative and financial processes, and ensure that every detail of SOFI reflects our values of craft, hospitality, and care.

Working closely with the Head Baker, you will bridge the creative and operational sides of the bakery - translating SOFI’s philosophy and products into an exceptional customer experience. You will play a central role in developing the team, maintaining high service standards, and supporting the next evolution of SOFI as we continue to grow.

Responsibilities

Operations & Service

  • Oversee day-to-day bakery operations, ensuring smooth coordination between front- of-house and production teams
  • Maintain high standards of customer service, presentation, and cleanliness across all areas• Manage ordering, stock control, and supplier relationships for front-of-house needs
  • Support the Head Baker in production planning to ensure seamless product flow and availability
  • Oversee scheduling, cash handling, and administrative duties
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and licensing regulations

People & Leadership

  • Lead, train, and motivate the front-of-house and retail team
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and growth-oriented work culture
  • Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and continuous development of staff
  • Work closely with the Head Baker to align communication and teamwork between production and service teams

Finance & Strategy

  • Monitor daily and monthly sales, costs, and productivity metrics
  • Manage budgets and financial planning in collaboration with senior management
  • Identify opportunities to optimize operations, improve efficiency, and increase profitability
  • Contribute to the strategic development of SOFI, including service concepts or future outlets

Qualifications

  • Proven professional experience (5+ years) in a leading bakery or hospitality business
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience in bakery or restaurant settings
  • Proven ability to lead operations and contribute to business development and growth
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Passion for innovation, quality, and hospitality
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-standard service environment
  • Fluency in English required; German language skills are an advantage
